Bangor: Captain Nicks

on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in ,
Here I am in Bangor ME a couple days left in the year still trying to close business to make 2011 a great year. While here you have to indulge in lobster so given the time of day I am free the best option according to the locals is captain nicks. On the menu for me tonight is an app of mussels in a white wine sauce and then a lazy lobster already de shelled and ready to eat.

For those more adventurous here are the instructions to crack your own meat.

The verdict, hmmm I have had better on Portland but maybe I didn't order the right dish here. I was a little underwhelmed at the amount d lobster that came with my meal. Should have been mounding above the bowl, it looks like the were a little skimpy on the main attraction.

Have to try somewhere else, problem is they are not open very late for dinner! See what happens tomorrow, stand by.

New York: Todd English Food Hall

on Friday, December 02, 2011 in , , , , ,
Finished up monster week in Chicago only to head to NYC. More walking, more eating although I really behaved in Chicago all week. Might as well splurge a little, since I will be spin doubles tomorrow at the gym.

My sister recommended The Food Hall at the Plaza Hotel. The menu looks crazy good, everything you can imagine literally like a Food Hall. Still waiting for a table hope to be seated soon.

Table was worth the 35 min wait, not bad on a Friday night. Check out the menu:

We munched down the baked oysters, sweet potato bisque, the ravioli and pastrami burger. My fav, the burger, man that was good.

I could have eaten at this place all night , raw bar, sushi, pizza, Asian flavors you name it they had it.

Well done Mr. English!

Chicago: Khan BBQ

on Monday, November 28, 2011 in , ,
Here for RSNA had a night to myself before being scheduled for customer dinners the rest of the week. My co worker who lives here offered some suggestions to help satisfy my Indian food craving, specifically for some kebabs. The spot is called khan BBQ located in little India on Devon st.

I ordered a bunch of beef and chicken dishes with naan, I love when they ask me for how many people are you ordering, and the look on their face when I say one person.

The food was pretty good, not spicy by any means but very flavorful and huge portions. It's not a fancy place but a nice joint to get some really good food fast and cheap.

Where have I been?

on Monday, July 04, 2011
It's been such a long time since I last wrote. I really admire those that can somehow manage to post every day and keep up with the demands of their followers. For me this idea of blogging was really intended to be an outlet to get my mind off of the daily work routine that is demanded of me. My role and responsibilities have changed quite a bit for the better with respect to career development but man it has really been hard to find work, life, balance as I have traveled more then 150,000 miles in the air after just 6 months. As a result I haven't been able to share some of my latest eats. I thought I would take this moment at the end of the fiscal quarter and long weekend to take a little time for my self. Those that follow me on Facebook have been subject to countless pictures of some dishes I have enjoyed since it's so easy to point, shoot and post. Wish blogging on the go was easier. Then again it probably is but I am not the most savvy from a social networking, blogging perspective so I must be missing something. I thought of getting one of those flip cameras and just shooting some video and posting directly, like a video blog of sorts.

Open to suggestions from you more experienced online social and blog gurus! U til next time.
